It was a fun and profitable weekend

(It was a fun and beneficial weekend)….It was mostly on Saturday.

It turned out there was plenty to go around. It began Saturday morning at the El Centro Fire Station 3. They held their Open House in observance of Fire Safety Week. That evening, The Justin Lofton Foundation presented a Country Throwback Concert under the Stars. It was held at the Cattle Call Arena in Brawley. Hundreds enjoyed the music of Collin Raye, Ty Herndon and Aaron Tippin. Funds raised at the event went to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Imperial Valley, among others. In Calexico they held their Calexico Talent Extravaganza 2. They also drew hundreds to the event that featured local amateur talent performing before celebrity judges. Proceeds from that event benefited the Calexico Police Department’s Kids “N” Badges event. Sunday Calexico held their first Farmer’s Market of the year. The event drew over 600, and organizers say they were very pleased with the results.
