(Film Festival wraps up Saturday)….The 3rd Annual Imperial Valley Film Festival and Artists Showcase was held at the IV Mall.
The event began Friday. It was billed as the Hottest Film Festival in the World. The workshops and artist gallery were all in the Food Court at the Mall. The Films were screened at Cinemark Theaters. All film entries were judged, with the top prize, Best of Show, going to Director Ruben Guillermo Garcia Martinez for his short film Adverso. Best Depiction of Life in the Imperial Valley was a documentary, Here We Stand, directed by Ruben G. Murrufo. Best Actress was Sara Nunez, who was directed in the short film Snow Birds by Kirk Anderson. Best Editing went to the music video Leather and Grace directed by Fernando Garcia. Jasmine Hoshino was named Best Director for the Short Film Tea Spoon. Best Documentary was How We Made Love, directed by Mark Polish. Honorable mentions were the music video Let Loose and the short film Movie Lovers.
