Appeals court says firing not warranred

(Shaun Sundahl should get his job back)…That was the decision of a California Appeals Court.

Sundahl was fired by the Calexico Police Department in 2009. He was dismissed after he was accused of ordering the use of a Tazer against an unarmed misdemeanor suspect standing in the New River, incorrectly handling a crime scene in a way that resulted in conflict between civilians and peace officers with injury, and failing to report allegations of criminal misconduct by other officers. The appeals court agreed the violations were not severe enough to warrant dismissal. The Appeals court ruling reverses a decision originally made by the Imperial County Superior Court. The terms of the appeals court decision were not released.
