(Dessert honored)…..Matt Dessert is the past President of the Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors.
The IID Board began their meeting Tuesday by adopting a resolution honoring him. The resolution listed major accomplishments achieved during Dessert’s tenure as Board President in 2013. They include the pilot equitable distribution program that provides an annual system of apportionment to more effectively manage the IID Colorado River supply each year, the strengthened relationship with the County Board of Supervisors through a memorandum of understanding wherein both agencies will focus on restoration of the Salton Sea, and an agreement with the Metropolitan Water District for joint participation in the binational conservation project authorized by minute 319 to obtain 23,750 acre-feet of intentionally created Mexican apportionment water credits for IID. The resolution was then presented to Dessert, who was elected as the Division 1 Director in 2011.
