(The IID may have a budget tonight)….But, maybe not.
The Imperial Irrigation District has held several budget workshops. Last week the Board was asked to adopt a final budget, but the action was postponed until this afternoon. IID Board President Matt Dessert says he is not confident a spending plan will be passed until the end of January. Dessert said this year’s budget was not adopted until March. He said he did not feel it would take that long for the next budget, but action probably would not be until the last meeting in January. He said he expects the Board to pass a continuing resolution that will enable the District, on a temporary basis, to fund essential services, provide for operational expenditures and allow existing projects to proceed without interruption. That resolution will be part of the package presented to the Directors during the special meeting.
