(Body found in the wilderness)…Border Patrol agents were notified Monday.
A group of hikers in the mountains north of Ocotillo discovered the body. They encountered a Border Patrol agent and told him of the find. Agents searched the area Monday night and found the remains. Deputy County Coroner Rodolfo Barron said a team was formed, including the Marine Search and Rescue. They went into the hazardous terrain Tuesday and recovered the body. Barron says it looks as if the person had been dead for several weeks. He said they did confirmed the deceased was a male, and has been listed as a John Doe until an identification can be made. The Deputy Coroner said at this time it is not possible to determine race, or much anything else. He said property was found near the body. Barron said he would try to find information on the deceased from the property, before beginning a more detailed investigation.
