(Confusion cleared up)…It surrounded the Ballot Measure for Calipatria.
Measure T was to pursue a Bond to pay for upgrades at the Calipatria High School. It was thought the measure needed a 2 thirds majority vote in order to pass. It turns out, that was not the case. Interim Registrar of Voters Debra Porter says the measure only needed 55% of the affirmative vote. The unofficial final tally indicate the Measure received 60.68 % percent of the yes votes. 338 voters voted in favor. 219 ballots were cast against. As it stands now, the Measure passed. Porter says there are still Vote by Mail ballots and Provisional ballots that need to be counted. It is not known if there are enough to change the Measure T out come.
