(Calexico's Police Chief will stay on for another year)...It took the City Council a couple meetings to finally agree to extend the Chief's contract one more year. The dealings were done in closed session, and it was never revealed why the contract took so long to be approved. |

(Illegal Border crossings are reportedly down)...U.S. Customs and Border Protection say, as compared to the same time last year, illegal border crossings have decreased by 34 percent. Immigration officials say regional numbers are not yet available, but over-all, they have seen a drop in illegal border crossers by over 149,000. |
