County going out for comparisons

(New Ad Hoc Committee appointed)….It was at the request of District 5 County Supervisor Ray Castillo.

The Supervisor made the request at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. Castillo said he wanted the committee to re-study the solar policy ordinance in the County. Castillo said the permit costs in Imperial County were out of line with other counties around the state. He said the committee should also look at the costs in other neighboring states, such as Arizona, as well. The Supervisor said the local costs far exceed the other areas. Castillo said they need to be brought to competitive levels. The Board named Supervisors Mike Kelley and Jack Terrazas to serve on the Ad Hoc Committee. County Executive Officer Ralph Cordova said the information requested would be brought back to the Board within a couple weeks.
