(Imperial County resident suffers fatal injuries)…He was involved in a traffic collision.

The collision reportedly occurred Sunday near Jacumba. 46 year old Alejandro Jimenez Mendoza of Heber was a passenger in a vehicle traveling west on Interstate 8. Near Carrizo Gorge Road, the vehicle went off the roadway and down the embankment. Witnesses to the incident called 911. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office said the cause of death was due to obvious traumatic injuries.
