(DUI Checkpoint)…It is scheduled for Friday.
The California Highway Patrol says the DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint will be set up somewhere within the unincorporated area of Imperial County. The CHP says the goal is to ensure the safe passage of each and every motorist by targeting roads where there is a high frequency of intoxicated or unlicensed drivers. They say a checkpoint is a proven effective tool for achieving the goal and they are designed to augment existing patrol operations. Friday’s Checkpoint will be operational from 8:00 pm until 2:00 am. Funding is being provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
