(CHP to focus on impaired drivers)….It is a new campaign.
The California Impaired Driving Campaign is being funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. The purpose is to reduce the number of traffic collisions caused by impaired drivers through enforcement and education. The grant will provide the California Highway Patrol the funding for additional driving under the influence saturation patrols, checkpoints and traffic safety education efforts throughout the state. The efforts are designed to remove DUI drivers from the roadway and educate the public regarding the dangers of impaired driving. The CHP will also actively participate in California’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over efforts. The CHP is also reminding the public to call 9 1 1 if they observe a suspected DUI driver.
