(Something needs to be done)…The County Board of Supervisors the state to take action.

This week the Board approved a letter being sent to California Governor Gavin Newsom. The letter urges the Governor to take a leadership role in addressing the New River pollution. The Supervisors invited the Governor to Imperial County to tour the community, including the New River. The Governor has already taken action regarding the discharge of pollutants in the Tijuana River in San Diego County. The Supervisors want the Governor to see firsthand the conditions Imperial County residents live in due to the lack of action taken by the Federal Government to address the pollution. Plans to clean the New River have not gotten past several studies and reports for the past several years.
