Probation to buy protective equipment

(Probation to pursue a grant)…County Board of Supervisors gave them the go-ahead Tuesday.

Chief Probation Officer Daniel Prince said the just over $11,000 grant was being requested from the US Department of Justice. Prince told the Board the funds would be used to help purchase needed equipment. He said the funds would go towards purchasing bullet proof vests, weapons etc. The majority of work related equipment is purchased with asset forfeiture funds, but the Chief said this grant provides an opportunity to obtain more needed equipment.
