(The special meeting did not happen)….Three Calexico City Council had requested the meeting.
Council members Luis Castro, Kim Joong and Armando Real had been requesting the meeting since last week. It was finally scheduled for Tuesday. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the City Manager position in closed session. When they arrived at the Council Chambers they realized the city did not have an attorney. None of the council members wanted to go into a closed session without an attorney. The city had dismissed the City Attorney recently. It was decided the City Manager position would be discussed at the next regular City Council meeting on June 2nd. The council was reminded by former City Councilman Daniel Romero that discussing the City Manager position in closed session would probably violate the Brown Act.
