(Young Entrepreneurs Graduate as CEO’s)….Middle and High School students from Southwest High School and Wilson Junior High received CEO status
Tuesday. It was during the 2015 El Centro Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneurs Academy Commencement. El Centro Chamber CEO Darletta Willis awarded the class their diplomas alongside the Program’s Director Anthony Moreno. Receiving CEO Status were Cecilia Marina Gentile, an 8th grade student at Wilson Junior High and Sydney Lee, a ninth grader at Southwest. The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is a groundbreaking nine-month program that guides students in grades 6-12 through the process of starting a real business, including business plan development, pitching an investor panel, obtaining funding, launching the venture, managing media campaigns, e-commerce and web development, sales events, and trade shows. Students, ages 11-18, are taught to recognize the power of their ideas, and to develop the skills necessary to turn those ideas into meaningful enterprises.
