(Criteria for County Scholarship Program)…The Board of Supervisors approved the Agricultural Benefit Fee Academic Scholarship Program.
The Program is being implemented by the County Ag Commissioners Office. Ag Commissioner Connie Valenzuela said the Scholarship Program would match programs that match county criteria. She said they would not be approving individual scholarship applications. The Supervisors agreed Tuesday to approve a 100% match for all qualifying scholarship programs, up to a maximum of $45,400. That includes every group or organizations that offer scholarships to students who plan to major in an agriculture related field, and have submitted an application to the Ag Commissioners Office. The approval was for 2015. The Board said the criteria could change for next year.
