United States Border Patrol agents were busy over the weekend.
On Sunday morning , agents assigned to the Calexico Station discovered more than 230 pounds of marijuana near Bowker Road and Interstate 8. The marijuana has a street value of more than $140,000.
Later Sunday afternoon , agents at the Calexico downtown port of entry discovered more than 15 gallons of liquid methamphetamine in the fuel tank of a pickup truck attempting to cross into the U.S. The driver , a 39-year old U.S. citizen from Lemon Grove , California , was arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail.
Early Monday morning , Border Patrol agents discovered 84 packages of marijuana abandoned on the banks of the Alamo River about 7 miles east of Calexico. The marijuana had a street value of over $625,000.
