Efforts against Drunk Driving recognized

(Local MADD Awards)…The presentation was hosted by the El Centro Police Department Wednesday.

 This year’s Mothers Against Drunk Driving awards were held at the El Centro Police Athletic League building. Representatives from the California Office of Traffic Safety and MADD were on hand to recognize and honor Imperial County Law Enforcement Officers for their outstanding performance and dedication in making the roadways safe. Receiving awards from the California Highway Patrol were; Officers; Carlos Alcantar, Cuauhtemoc Beltran, Alex Torres, Kevin Biagi, Austin Fowler, Javier Amezcua and Eric Garcia. From the El Centro Police Department, awards went to Officers Jason Ni and Ruben Guzman. Agent Jesse Rotner with the Brawley Department and Officers Steven Garcia and Gustavo Zamora with the Calexico Police Department also received awards. Office of Traffic Safety Avoid Awards were presented to Sergeants Aaron Reel and Robert Sawyer with the El Centro Police Department. Deputy Justin Bostic with the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department and the Explorer Post 4005 with the Calexico Police Department.
