Carrot Festival Sweepstakes Competition

The Sweepstakes competition is now set)…The final entrants were revealed Thursday evening.

The top 2 award winners in the Holtville Carrot Festival cooking contests this week are entered in the Sweepstakes competition tonight. The final names for this evenings event are the winners in the Thursday competition. Bethany Rubino took 1^st place with her Potato Carrot Swirl recipe in the Open Chef International category. 2^nd place went to Ginger Ward for her Veggie Quesadillas. In the Open Chef Energy Saving Division, 1^st place went to Jeannette McLaughlin with her Penny Pinchin Poor Man’s Stew. 2^nd Place was Georgina Camacho who prepared her Sweet and Sour Carrot Short Ribs. In the Little Chef Desserts Division, Rachel Chambers took 1^st Place with her Carrot Date Cake. 2^nd Place went to Alexis Piper with Carrot Ice Cream Sandwiches. 3^rd Place went to Brady Butler with Good Cinnamon. In the Junior Chef Desserts Division, Alyssa Moreno took 1^st Place with her Carrot Cupcakes with Cream. The Sweepstakes competition tonight will be held in the Civic Center starting at 6:00 pm.
