(PUC Commissioner to speak at the IV Renewable Energy Summit)….Catherine J.K. Sandoval leads a longs list of speakers confirmed for the summit.

 Also scheduled to participate in the March 13-15 event will be: luncheon keynote speaker Glenda Humiston, state Director of USDA Rural development; Jan Smutny-Jones, executive director of the Independent Energy Producers Association and former Chair of the governing board of the California Independent System Operator; and Mary Ingersoll, President/CEO of TeamCalifornia. Tim Kelley, Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation President/CEO, says the number and caliber of speakers at the Summit this year is extraordinary. He said the insight and vision they represent will provide a great opportunity to explore the progress made by the region’s maturing renewable energy industry as well as a forum to discuss the challenges that still lie ahead. Other speakers confirmed for the Summit include Imperial Irrigation District General Manager Kevin Kelley, IID Board President John Pierre Menvielle, Robert Ramaekers, vice president for development of Tenaska; Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technologies Executive Director V. John White; and  David E. Pearson, Dean of San Diego State University, Imperial Valley Campus. The theme this year is The Power to Renew California and it will also feature an expo of vendors and developers, tours of an array of renewable projects already generating energy or under construction and abundant networking possibilities. Registration forms are still available at ivedc.com. The Imperial Valley Renewable Energy Summit will be held At the Barbara Worth Resort and Country Club in Holtville.
