(Maximum enforcement is in full swing)…It began Wednesday evening.
It will continue until 11:59 Sunday night. Maximum Enforcement is the California Highway Patrol Holiday mode. During the Maximum Enforcement period the CHP calls in as many officers as possible to patrol the roadways. They are on the lookout for all violations, but especial drunk or impaired driving and seatbelt violations. Extra law enforcement patrols are also underway in the Sand Dune recreational areas. Official say they anticipate more than 250,000 off-road enthusiasts will visit the recreation areas over the holiday weekend. The Thanksgiving Day weekend is one of the busiest Off-road weekends in the Imperial County.
