(Six illegal immigrants allowed back into the U.S.)….It was by court order.
The ACLU had filed a class-action lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security. The suit claimed certain illegal immigrants had been coerced to sign repatriation documents and were deported back to Mexico. This week, the six were allowed back into the United States at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. It was part of a settlement reached in the class action. The lawsuit was filed in 2013. It was filed on behalf of nine Mexican Nationals and 3 immigrant advocacy organizations. It alleged the immigrants were deprived of their right to be heard by an immigration judge. The six allowed back into the country had strong ties in the United States, including U.S. citizen family members and no serious criminal histories. They could now possibly be on their way to possible legalization
