(CHP investigates two incidents)…The first was reported Saturday afternoon.
At just after 1:00, the California Highway Patrol received a call at West Cole Road, at Dogwood. It was a single vehicle rollover. The CHP called in County Fire because of the suspicion the vehicle was leaking fuel. There were no injuries reported in that incident. At just after 3:00 Monday morning a motorist called the Highway Patrol to report a woman stumbling around close to Interstate 8, east of the Grays Well Road off-ramp. The CHP arrived and found the woman, but no vehicle. The Border Patrol was called in to assist in the search. The vehicle was found about 75 feet off the roadway, stuck in the sand. Rural Metro was called to transport the woman to Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma. The woman was suffering major injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
