(State funding approved)….Area Agency on Aging officials reported the funding.
Norma Saikhon, Public Administrator/Director for the Area Agency on Aging, informed the Board of Supervisors that the contracts were in place for 2015-16 fiscal year state funding. The County will receive $632,989 to pay for several seniors programs offered by the AAA. Saikhon said while it was nice to have the contracts in place, the downside is that the funding is almost half of what it once was. Supervisor Jack Terrazas said his Board needed to make senior funding a priority, and begin working towards locating additional funding for the programs.
