Supervisors agree to Law Enforcement agreement

(Law Enforcement agreement approved)….It is allowed in the state Penal Code.

The agreement is between the Bureau of Land Management, California and Arizona Offices and the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office, for law enforcement services. The agreement allows the Sheriff, Ray Loera, to give written consent to BLM law enforcement personnel to enforce laws of the state and ordinances of the county on property owned or possessed by the federal government, or any street, sidewalk or property adjacent to the federal land. The purpose of the agreement approved by the Supervisors Tuesday, is to define services, litigation costs, and exchange of relevant evidentiary material.
