(Interstate 8 blocked for a short period)…It was the eastbound lanes at Meyer Creek
. At just after 12:00 noon a semi rear-ended a travel trailer. The trailer, being pulled by a pick-up, over-turned, spilling debris. A small amount of gas from the pick-up also leaked on the Interstate. Cal Trans was able to clean up the gas. It took less than an hour to clean up the debris enough to open the lanes back up to traffic. The driver of the semi claims the driver of the pick up pulling the trailer slowed, causing him the semi to rear end the trailer. The driver of the pick up told the Highway Patrol he did not slow down at all. The CHP says they are investigating the collision to determine what exactly caused the incident. No injuries were reported.
