(Supervisors adopt resolution)…It is a requirement in order for the Sheriff’s office to receive a grant.
The Sheriff’s office was awarded $253,866 under the Financial Aid Program from the State of California Boating and Waterways. As part of the Grant requirements it was necessary to submit a resolution, approved by the Supervisors, approving the Office to participate in the program. A signed contract, by the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, with the California Department of Parks and Recreation was also needed. The Sheriff’s office will use the funds to pay for boating supplies, vehicle equipment and maintenance and salaries for Deputies assigned to patrol the different waterways in Imperial County. During the summer, the Sheriff’s office patrols the Colorado River, from the Mexican border to Blythe.
