(Monitoring the Homeless in Imperial County)…County Supervisors agree it is time.
The Board of Supervisors approved a 3-year agreement with Catholic Charities. According to the agreement, the County will provide Catholic Charities $70,000 for 3 years. They will use the funds to purchase computers and software required to be a part of the federal Homeless Management Information System. The purpose is to monitor the Homeless, determine their numbers in Imperial County, their needs and how those needs can be filled. That information is required by Housing and Urban Development in order to qualify for grant funding to help the homeless. The County said gathering the information was long over due.
