(The numbers are in)…Last weekend was the 6th Annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. It was hosted by the US Drug Enforcement Administration. The Day provided a location for residents to dispose of old, out of date drugs. The DEA says on a National scale, the event collected 50% more pills than the previous one. They say they were able to collect 371 tons of prescription medications last Saturday at 5,829 locations around the nation. The DEA was partnered with state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies at 4,312 locations. For all six years the event has been held, the DEA says they have collected more than 1,409 tons of prescription medications have been removed from circulation.
