The Imperial Valley Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will be held Friday in El Centro.
The ceremony pays special tribute to the 39 officers in Imperial County who have died in the line of duty through the years. The ceremony will begin with a motorcade procession that will assemble at the courthouse steps in El Centro at 6:45 p.m. Guest speakers will open the ceremony at 7:00 p.m. The names of the 39 fallen Imperial County officers will be read followed by a 21-gun salute , a flag-folding ceremony , taps , Amazing Grace and a moment of silence. Chairman of the local memorial committe , CHP Officer Wesley Boerner , said , " It's a true privilege to honor each of these 39 members for their service and extend the utmost respect to their loved ones for their memories and sacrifice."
