(Changes at the IID)…On Monday Jim McIntosh took over the systems operations center . McIntosh replaces Dan McCann, assistant energy manager. McCann oversaw the system operation center. He was a contract employee with the Imperial Irrigation District. The District says he has left the IID to pursue other interests. In a memo released by the IID, McIntosh has assumed management responsibility for the IID System Operations Center until further notice. McIntosh is a former director of grid operations at the California Independent System Operator and is a certified reliability coordinator with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation. Before joining CAISO in 2000, he spent 30 years with Pacific Gas and Electric. McIntosh will report directly to Carl Sills, interim Energy Manager, and he will be assisted by transmission planning consultant Frank Barbera and organizational development consultant Arn Lahde. The memo, issued by IID General Manager Kevin Kelley, says with the arrival of McIntosh to the System Operations Center, the District is redoubling its commitment to instilling a culture of compliance throughout its energy operations. Kelley says while they have made some important strides in the compliance arena, there is much to do in making it essential day-to-day operations as showing up on time and leaving late when the job demands it.
