(Suspects get away)…It happened Tuesday evening.
A Bui9ck sedan approached the Immigration checkpoint on Highway 78, near Palo Verde, but instead of stopping the vehicle with two male occupants sped away. Border Patrol agents gave pursuit, but lost visual contact. Several agents began the search for the vehicle. It was finally found in the water at the Oxbrow Recreation and Wildlife Area. The agents searched, but the suspects had gotten away. They did find 16 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. The marijuana weighed 15.8 pounds and was valued at $56,000.
