(Remains of possible kidnap victim identified)….The remains were found April 11th.

Deputy Coroner Rodolfo Barron Says the mostly skeletal remains were found by Border Patrol agents in the Ocotillo Mountains, about 200 yards from the International Boundary. Barron says there were enough fingerprints still available to positively identify the victim as 27-year-old Alejandro Sanchez Avalos from Michoacan, Mexico. He was last seen in a group illegally crossing the border on January 25th. Barron says the victim had called his mother in January and told her he was being held by a group of armed people, who demanded money before crossing him into the United States. The mother sent an undetermined amount of money, and never heard from her son again. Mexican Authorities are investigating those allegations. A forensic anthropologist has examined the remains. The Deputy Coroner says her report is pending.
