(Texting and driving, using a hand held cell phone. Both dangerous)… Television and Radio have gone through an extensive PR campaign. They have warned of the dangerous of being a distracted driver. Next month the message will be delivered in person. April is Distracted Driver Awareness month. The theme is ‘It’s Not Worth It.’ In an effort to eliminate dangerous behind the whee cell phone use and texting, the California Office of Traffic Safety, California Highway Patrol and more than 200 law enforcement agencies across the state announced high visibility enforcement operations during April’s National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The overall goal of the increased enforcement is to convince drivers of the dangers of distracted driving and reduce the number of people impacted by the risky behavior. The theme, It’s Not Worth It, emphasizes that a phone call or text isn’t worth a hefty fine, a collision or worse.
