(Fatal injury victim officially identified)…The County Coroners office released the identification.

Deputy Coroner Rodolfo Barron says the victim was 26-year-old Francisco Puga, a Calexico resident. Puga was a Border Patrol agent on his way to work Friday at the time of the collision. The California Highway Patrol says Puga’s vehicle was struck by a Ford Expedition Friday afternoon at the intersection of Bowker and McCabe Roads. Puga was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his Kia Rio. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 43-year-old woman driving the Ford suffered major injuries and was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center. The Mexicali woman was later flown to a San Diego area Hospital for treatment. Her condition is not known. The CHP is continuing to investigate the collision.
