A Holtville school bus was involved in a three vehicle accident Friday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol says that at 5:08 p.m. Friday they received a call of a three vehicle accident at the intersection of Barbara Worth and Heber Roads. A pickup truck driven by a 66-year old Fontana man was northbound on Barbara Worth Road , stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Heber Road , and proceeded into the path of the Holtville school bus that was travelling eastbound on Heber Road at about 50 miles per hour. The two vehicles collided and the bus then was pushed into the path of a car that was westbound on Heber Road. There were 35 students on the school bus who sustained minor to moderate injuries. The driver of the bus was not injured. The driver of the pickup received moderate injuries and the driver and two passengers in the car sustained moderate to major injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
