Two people were injured Friday morning in apparently random attacks.

According to Commander Ray Bonillas of the El Centro Police Department , the first incident occurred at about 9:20 a.m. when police were notified of an apparent stabbing victim at El Centro Regional Medical Center. The victim said that at about 9:15 a.m. he was at a fast food restaurant in the 300 block of North Imperial Avenue in El Centro when he was randomly stabbed once for no apparent reason.

Shortly after 10:00 a.m. , police received a second report of a stabbing in front of a business in the 600 block of North Imperial Avenue. The second victim was taken to ECRMC for treatment. When officers arrived on the scene they were able to locate a suspect in the 700 block of North Imperial Avenue. The suspect was identified as the individual who stabbed both victims. The suspect was arrested. The investigation is continuing but according to Commander Bonillas primary evidence indicates both assaults were unprovoked and the victims had no prior relationship with the suspect.
