(Brawley residents being asked to boil their water)….The Water Department says it is a precaution.
Wednesday a contractor ruptured a 24-inch water distribution pipeline. As a consequence, Brawley water customers experienced a service interruption that lasted 20 to 30 minutes. The Water Department says during this time the affected pipeline was isolated. They say because the water pressure dropped below the required standard and as a precautionary measure, the State Water Resource Control Board, Division of Drinking Water required the City to issue a Boil Order Notice. Most residents were notified through a reverse 911 call. At last report repair work being conducted on Malan Road, between Brawley Avenue, or Highway 86, and 1st Street Motorist may have to detour around that section of Malan.
