(The rain wasted little time in causing traffic issues).....Low visibility was reported Friday morning.

Low clouds, fog and rain caused the problem over the mountains on Interstate 8. At around 8:39 Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol says a BMW was traveling westbound on Interstate, at Mountain Springs Grade. At the Mountain Springs Road onramp, the vehicle was struck by a boulder. The disabled vehicle was forced to pull over to the side of the Interstate. The CHP says they found mid-sized rocks all over the roadway. Two other vehicles were found on the righthand shoulder. No injuries were reported. At 9:16 Friday morning a dark colored Lexus was traveling on Austin Road when it got stuck in the mud west of Aten Road. Motorists are being reminded to take extra care if they are traveling during the storm this weekend.
