(The California Mid-Winter Fair continues)...Coming off a strange weekend.

The weather is to blame for a low turn-out at the fair on Saturday. Sunday, however, the weather was very cooperative, and the people responded. The crowds were extremely large on Sunday. Actual attendance numbers have not been made available, but several fairgoers commented they had not seen the number of people at the fair on Sunday. It was a racing weekend at the fair. One of the feel good stories was ten year old Prestin Ellis. The Imperial County resident finished 2nd Sunday afternoon in only his third time racing mini-dwarf cars. He finished third on Saturday. Tonight, the main event is High School Madness. Some everyday events include Imperial Valley Gem and Mineral Society, with gold panning, geode cutting and more, Livestock arena events, Helm and Sons Amuesmemnt rides. Strolling the grounds throughout the fair; Godfrey the Magician, Balloonacy, The Street Drum Corps and Captain Jack. Gates open at 5:00 pm.
