The Imperial County Public Health Department updated their dashboard with COVID-19 numbers Wednesday morning.

There were two additional deaths reported. The number of active cases increased slightly from 739 om Tuesday to 755 Wednesday. There was an additional 35 individuals who tested positive for the virus. An additional 295 test results were counted. Of the active cases , 8 patients are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units while 7 individuals remain on ventilators. 

Local health care providers are encouraging Valley residents to remain vigilant during the Labor Day Weekend. The number of infected people has risen following every holiday period since Easter and officials are preparing for a spike in COVID-19 infections about 7 days after the holiday weekend but hoping that it doesn't occur. Social distancing and facial covering mandates remain in effect in Imperial County and large gatherings are not permitted.
