Near triple digit heat will grip the Imperial Valley through Monday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), unseasonably warm temperatures will persist through the first part of the week. Monday should be the warmest fay with 99 degrees expected. Temperatures will then begin to drop as the first is a series of weather systems moves trough the region moving highs closer to normal while presenting periods of strong gusty winds. Expect the low eighties by Thursday and upper seventies by next weekend. Winds are expected in the 20 mph range with gusts near 30 mph.
