San Diego State University Imperial Valley broke ground Friday on their new Sciences and Engineering Laboratories in Brawley.

The project, first announced in May of 2022, is funded by $80 million in state funding earmarked to expand sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics, STEM, opportunities in the state. The SDSU project is expected to tie into the development of the economic opportunities presented by Lithium Valley projects. The new facility is expected to open n fall 2025.
