(Marine Corps Helicopter goes down near Pine Valley)...The Super Stallion Helicopter had five Marines on board.

The Helicopter was traveling from Creech Air Force Base in Nevada to the Miramar Marnie Air Base in San Diego. Officials lost contact with the Helicopter Tuesday night. At 2:20 Wednesday morning Cal Fire was called to begin searching for the Helicopter. At just before 11 Wednesday morning it was reported the Super Stallion had been located near Pine Valley. The inclement weather made it difficult for rescuers to reach the crash scene. Early Thursday morning searchers reported finding the passengers. They said all five were dead. The identities of the Marines killed in the incident will not be released until at least 24 hours after the families have been notified. The cause of the incident is under investigation. Officials say the Military has had problems with the Super Stallion in the past decade. Two incidents have proved fatal. In 2018 four crew members were killed when a Super Stallion went down near El Centro.
