Asim Shakir Daniels has been sentenced)....He had entered a guilty plea for robbing the Sun Community Credit Union in Holtville and a Bank of the West in La Mesa.

Both robberies occurred in January 2022. The robberies happened a day apart. Daniels was sentenced to 57 months in Federal Prison for the robberies. The serial robber had served time for robbing the La Mesa Bank in 2011 He was arrested the same day he had robbed the La Mesa Bank last year. Daniels brother Akil is also serving time for several bank robberies.
