A 34-year-old man was arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

El Centro Police responded to the 100 block of Heil Court shortly before 9:00 p.m. Christmas evening after receiving a report of a man looking into vehicles parked in the neighborhood. Residents confronted the man and he fled.  Officers were able to detain the man a short time later and he was positively identified as the suspect. He was arrested and booked at Imperial County Jail on charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Earlier that day, the same man had been identified as the suspect in an incident where a cab driver reported to El Centro Police that he had driven the man from Anaheim to El Centro and on arrival the man walked away without paying the $633 cab fare.
