(Brawley Police issue a scam alert)....They are ongoing phone scams.

They say the scammers pose as law enforcement members who attempt to pressure victims into giving them money. They claim the victim will be arrested unless they give a payment immediately. The scammers may also use a spoofing tactic in disguising the phone number to appear as a local law enforcement agency. They may also attempt to email fake law enforcement credentials to gain the victim's trust. Brawley Police say if you receive such a call, hang-up immediately without giving any financial or personal information and report the incident to the Brawley Police Department
