They have recently received $25 million in funding for implementation and initiatives, including a Community Emissions Reduction and Community Air Monitoring programs, electric school buses, electric vehicle infrastructure, paving and urban green projects, and the installation of indoor air filtration systems in public schools throughout the designated corridor. The Brawley-Westmorand-Calipatria CSC was selected earlier this year and received $3.75 million for implementation. Last month the CSC was approved and will have their first meeting later this month. They will meet to discuss air quality issues in their designated corridor and develop a community-focused action framework for community protection.
