A wildfire continues to burn in Riverside County.

The Highland Fire was reported shortly after noon on Monday and by Tuesday morning had consumed some 2,200 acres. According to Cal Fire, the active fire was zero percent contained Tuesday morning as fire fighters worked to tame the blaze. Evacuations were reported as the fire threatened a number of structures. As of Tuesday afternoon, there were no injuries associated with the fire. The wildfire is just north of the San Diego County line and south of Highway 79.
